Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
I have recently found out that I am pregnant, and due to have my baby in January 2010. After careful consideration and much soul searching I have decided to cancel my place on the China walk, and register instead on the Peru walk in September 2010. This is a much tougher challenge, as not only will there be steep climbs, but the altitude is quite unlike anything I will have experienced in the UK, and will certainly take some getting used to. For information on the walk, please see the itinerary here
If you wish to sponsor me please do so on my new jsutgiving page http://www.justgiving.com/EstherinPeru/
I will be continuing to keep active throughout my pregnancy, and will continue to raise money through collections, car boot sale and events.
I was inspired to start walking following the death of my brother Richard, who was a keen walker, and a real adventurer through life. Since he died, I have tried to incorporate his spirit of adventure into my life far more, and I firmly believe that he would thoroughly approve of my doing this trek to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Richard and Jill, his wife, found the services of Cancerbacup, who are now incorporated with Macmillan, to be extrememly useful during the time he was diagnosed and recieving treatment. Cancer is a very frightening disease, and quality support from trained and caring professionals is vital, not only for the cancer sufferer, but also for their family. Macmillan and Cancer Backup do this very efficiently and effectively, but they do rely heavily on donations, and fundraising events like this for their funding. I am proud to be planning to do this, and I hope you will support me. Remember, every penny counts, and any donation, no matter how small, will be gratefully appreciated.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Macmillan Cancer Support gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
