Event: Swimathon 2019, from 29 March 2019 to 31 March 2019
Cancer Research UK and Marie Curie are calling on the nation to get down to the pool for Swimathon 2019 - thousands of swimmers, two great causes, one big charity challenge.

Story

My challenge for 2019 was to swim 100km in 10 days. I originally planned to do it in March but, after several months of training, a family medical issue meant I had to postpone.

I finally have a new date for my swim (30th August - 8th September) - hurrah!

In honour of a friend who is currently undergoing cancer treatment, I've swapped my swimming venue from my local gym pool to Jesus Green Lido. The water in the lido should be a bracing 17C at that time of year - I figured if she can endure the dreaded 'cold cap' during her chemo sessions, it's the least I can do!

All donations are very much appreciated :-)
