Estrela is  currently developing a community tourism initiative in Salvador (NE Brazil), to enable international visitors to gain an understanding of daily community and cultural life in Salvador by meeting its people, enjoying its riches and understanding its reality, within an environment of balanced and ethical exchange.

Working alongside local youth and community-led initiatives, the project´s key aim is to generate opportunity and sources of income among disadvantaged young people and women.  In March 2008, we are launching the first "youth and community tourist guide training course" with emerging young leaders from disadvantaged communities, and are seeking support to enable this course to develop with maximum benefit and efficiency.

Community tours for visitors currently cost £20.00, and all "virtual visitors" will receive a "virtual tour" with photos. So why not sponsor a community tour and support our young leaders in their training.
