Hi everyone,

On 24^th September we summited Cho Oyu, the 6^th highest mountain in the world (8,201m). This, whilst being a severe challenge in itself, was a means to an end – the end being an attempt on Mount Everest in 2010, the highest mountain in the world at 8,848m (29,029ft)!

This will involve two months living on the mountain in a tent, whilst enduring temperatures of below -30°C and extreme altitudes. We are joining one of the best expedition groups around, however the threat of serious injury from crevasse breakthrough, avalanche, hypothermia or altitude is very real.

We are raising money for The CAIRN (Child Aid in Rural Nepal) Trust which I am sure you will agree is a relevant cause; Nepalese children are the poorest in South Asia and we are climbing their mountain. We are climbing Everest for our own fulfilment; however it would be nice to raise a few thousand pounds for this worthy cause.

Every penny goes to the charity as we are financing the expedition independently. Our promise to you is that we will not ask you for another penny this decade. Everest is unique in its status and history, so we feel that raising money and awareness for the local children is a natural step. Please donate as generously as possible.
