Hi everyone,
On the 17th May 2010 we summited Mount Everest, the world's highest point at 8,848m (29,029ft). This was the result of years of climbing and training on other high peaks around the world. Everest was our toughest challenge to date and we are absolutely exhausted.
We left Base Camp on 14th May after more than a month of acclimatisation climbs. We pushed up through the Khumbu Ice Fall, past Camp 1 to overnight at Camp 2 (6,400m). We headed up the the Lhotse Face the next day to Camp 3 (7,100m) and slept. We left there at 7am and got to the South Col (7,950m) late at around 5.30pm.
That same night we left for the summit after a few hours ‘rest’. The night was cold but clear and most importantly the wind speed stayed low. On the morning of 17th we stood on the summit together.
Mount Everest is the Nepalese childrens' mountain, so we feel we should raise money and awareness for them. By reaching our target we hope to raise enough money to have a library built through The CAIRN (Child Aid In Rural Nepal) Trust. We have almost reached our target and we need your help to get there. Please donate as generously as possible.
