Meningitis - Every Second Counts Awareness Walk · 22 February 2009

We fundraise to buy equipment, fund major projects, desensitise the medical environment and buying a new ambulance for the Children's Intensive Care Unit at Southampton University Hospital. Caring for critically ill children from across the south of England and the Channel Islands.

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

In December 08 Our daughter Baileah, fell ill to meningococcal septicaemia. She was transferred to PICU where they gave her the best care possible. She was so fortunate to make a full recovery. To show our gratitude for saving our baby, Baileahs ( Babas) dad and I are trying to raise money to new life saving equipment for the unit. We have organised a 20 mile sponsored walk from QA to SGH on sunday 17th May. Not only do we hope to raise a lot of money for PICU but we hope we can raise meningitis awareness and get people to recognise the signs early on. So we have set up Every Second Counts, a campaign we hope will help other people understand more about meningitis and hopefully save lives.

Please dig deep and help us raise the money this unit needs to be able to give our children the best care possible. Thank you.
