Friends of the Tarabai Desai Eye Hospital

We conduct Eye Camps to provide free eye care and surgery to the poor in Rajasthan/India. In 2006-7 the Tarabai Desai Eye Hospital carried out over 2000 eye operations through their Eye Camps. The Friends have achieved to fund the building of a new wing to the hospital in Jodhpur and we are now in great need to fit out the new wing with equipment.

A note from Gunter Heyden,

Dear Friends,
Thank you for visiting my special fundraising page. I have now been working to support the Eye Camps for over 5 years and the work being done is fantastic considering so few do so much! The help given to people who normally could not afford an eye operation is tremendous. Giving someone the power to see again is restoring a human being to be able to look after him/herself and resume a normal life. Without our help many people would be blind permanently. So please - make a donation! With help from all my friends we have been able to fund over 2000 cataract operations last year, but the need is continuing!
