My story

 

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. As someone who experiences ongoing visual problems from an injury playing Rugby back in 2001 I know only too well how important Charities like "Fight for Sight" are. Please support me in trying to help them in continuing to improve the treatment of eye disease, injury and blindness.

My challenge is to complete 2 Duathlons in 1 month covering 24 km of running and 65 km of cycling all in under 5 hours- The two national events are the South Coast Classic Nr Brighton and The Cambridge Duathlon Nr Cambridge on the 2nd and 30th April respectively. Feel free to come and support.

 RESULTS:

Having completed the South Coast event you will be pleased to know that i completed the race in 1hr 54mins 52secs with the following split times:

Run 1 5km: 22mins 16secs

Bike 30km: 1hr 6mins 56secs

Run 2 5km: 25mins 40secs

My final position in the Mens event was 29th out of 56 finishers, and 5th in my age category.

Second event now completed also- Cambridge Duathlon finishing time was 2hrs 11mins 21secs with following splits:

Run1 7km: 29mins 18secs

Bike 35km: 1hr 09mins 39secs

Run 2 7km: 32mins 23secs

Finishing 21st in age group and 189th overall in a field of nearly 300.

All in all, a great pair of results smashing the 5hr challenge with combined finishing time of 4hrs 5mins!!
