FAT BOY SLIMS FOR AFRICA - RESPECT 2008+
building homes for HIV/AIDS orphans inEshowe,
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
In June 2008 I was lucky to visit the Zulu people in the isolated rural community of Hahashi,Kwazulu Natal, , together with 11 other friends we built a home for a family of children orphaned by the Aids crisis.
To raise sponsorship I changed my life by shedding an excess 5 stone in weight. The Zulu's changed my attitude to life with their warmth , friendship and by their resilience in the face of great adversity ! I thank them for that privilege
THE PLAN STAN
Working together my former employer Stephen George and Partners, their staff and friends last year raised just of £60k to help the children of SA through Habitat for Humanities "orpans and vulnerable children program"
As an added incentive, Stephen George and Partners doubled up all donations received last year. Furthermore, any money donated before September 1st 2008 was doubled again by USAID. Therefore every £500 raised with your help became £2000 in actual money received by the charity ! ! !
HOW TO SPONSOR :-
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. If you are a UK taxpayer, please tick the box so that we can claim an extra 28% in tax at no cost to you. Any money you donate will go towards the building materials needed to construct these much needed homes. All my personal travel expenses were funded by my employers.
Many thanks for your support we really appreciate it. Keep checking the site for updates and pictures!

UPDATES - WHATS HAPPENING NOW ?
The initial trip to SA may be over but the journey has only just begun ! The global credit crisis has made raising funds for charity ever more difficult. Please remember the great importance of continuing to help those who can not help themselves !
In May 2009 a generous donation by my mate Sturat Clarke took my personal sponsorship to its target of £5000 Generously boosted by additional tax aid - my fundraising continues and I hope with your continued help and much valued support to smash this total.
In june 09 economic times are hard in the UK - what must they be like in other lesss fortunate lands where they were dreadful to start with ? My personal Mantra is :-
" life is not about waiting for the storms to pass .......its about learning to dance in the rain !! "
.....and the great thing about dance is that its a lot more fun when everyone joins in !
I will be going again to SA , the plan to go this Autumn has sadly been postponed until spring 2010. There will be many more trips to continue the work that is vital for the survival of our Zulu brothers and sisters.
