About Fight for Sight

Fight for Sight is the UK’s leading charity dedicated to funding world-class research into blindness and eye disease.

The charity's current research programme of over £5m is supporting research into a wide range of eye diseases including age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma, cataract, diabetic retinopathy and many inherited conditions.

It's thanks to your help and support that major medical advances have been made possible in this field. However, the fight against eye disease is far from over. Together we can work towards a better future for generations to come.
 

Our history

Fight for Sight is a UK-based charity funding research into blindness and eye disease. The charity was established in 2005 by the merger of Fight for Sight with the British Eye Research Foundation (formerly The Iris Fund). Both charities were established in 1965.
 

Fight for Sight has a history of close association with the Institute of Ophthalmology, London, research partner to the Moorfields Eye Hospital. The British Eye Research Foundation has a history of close ties with St Thomas’ Hospital, London.

Today, Fight for Sight is the UK’s leading charity dedicated to funding eye research at institutions across the UK and to helping people with eye disease across the world.
