Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.
We have arrived home from what was a fantastic challenge covering 24 hours where every member of the team including drivers did their bit.
After a great night in our Youth Hostel in Scotland having enjoyed a three course meal prepared by our fantastic chefs we set off for the 70 mile trip to Glen Nevis.
Nerves were evident as the set off time approached and due to changing weather conditions the start was brought forward by 20 minutes to 3.40pm.
A major push to the summit meant that Ben Nevis was conquered in 5 hours 15 minutes.
A quick change of clothes and the minibus was off through the torrential rain that continued in the Lake District.
Scaffell was not the place to be and @ 3.00am the team set off for the very dark climb up the treacherous slope returning triumphant in 4 hours.A major change of very drenched clothes then ensued before setting off to Wales.
The forecast was bleak and time was running out however with a fantastic effort by both drivers it meant that 3 hours 49 mins was left to conquer Snowden.
The higher we got up the climb the stronger the winds with gusts of 80 - 90 miles threatening to blow us off the mountain.
Upon reaching the top a quick photo shoot before the descent (Still 1 hour 20 mins left).
With a final push and a half mile jog all members arrived @ Peny Pass Youth Hostel with 5 minutes to spare.
A great effort and very emotional finish for all involved.
The challenge had consisted of climbing the three highest peaks in the UK in a 24 hour period and also included some 470 miles of driving between peaks.
The three peaks were Ben Nevis (Scotland), Scaffell Pike (England) and Snowden (Wales).
The party of eight concerned were Barry Foulser, Keith Wisdom, John Mezzetti, Samantha Hicks, Sharon Jones , Jenny Armstrong, Jeremy Boreham & Matt Copeman.
Their two drivers Alan Lamb & Sharon Grant played a major part in this epic adventure.
On 12th July Matt Copeman successfully completed the Coast to Coast bike ride of 140 miles in a day in an awesome time of less than 9 hours cycling..Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure.
