My story

I know I said at the end of Great World Run in Sept 2008 September it was time to hang my running shoes up but lets face it that was never going to happen. Watch out some new challenges in 2009!!!  My new website is going to be up and running soon, with details of next challenges so pop back soon.  In the meantime please feel free to email Findlay_home@hotmail.com My old blog is still around from Great World Run at http://greatworldrun.blogspot.com/

In 2003 I was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer which was treated by radiotherapy (Iodine 131) then a partial thyroidectomy.  Then I managed to do a 3hr41 Chicago marathon 3 weeks later, then 4 Half marathon around UK in 24 hours to celebrate being told I no longer had cancer.

In 2005 when I was rediagnosed - I could not put it down to bad luck and one of those things, but completing Great Manchester Run and feeling the support of hundreds of fellow participants from ICI made a huge difference.  The emotional impact it had on me and other people around me was much more.    I had  total thyroidectomy, chemotherapy and hormone therapy and I have been cancer free ever since.

Please dig deep and sponsor me online. Huge thanks your donation changes people's lives.
