Brighton Marathon 2010 · 18 April 2010 ·

Story

Dave: "Will you run the Brighton Marathon with me Mate?"

Mr D: "If you run in firekit I'll run with you, if you run without firekit, Poke it!"

Currently a firefighter working for West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service on Blue Watch in Worthing.  I am entered in the 2010 Brighton Marathon and I will be running in firefighter kit carrying breathing apparatus.

I am raising money for BLESMA, the British Limbless Ex Servicemans Association, http://www.blesma.org/   In 2007 I was mobilised by the Royal Marines Reserve and joined 40 Commando Royal Marines for a tour of duty in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.  I was fortunate that on my return from the frontline in Afghanistan I did not require the help of BLESMA but a number of my colleagues did.  Suffering discomfort through completing the Brighton Marathon and Brighton Half Marathon is nothing compared to the challenges faced by the heroes that BLESMA help daily.  Please Help me to Help them
