About The Fire Fighters Charity
Being a member of the fire services community is a unique position that can all too often produce specific stresses and strains. Whether an individual is serving, retired, or a dependant of fire service personnel, it is not uncommon for them to require assistance. The only charity that offers help to these individuals is The Fire Fighters Charity, the UK’s only fire services’ charity.
Founded during the harrowing times of World War II and with Her Majesty the Queen as Royal Patron, the award-winning charity has continually expanded its services to meet the evolving needs of its beneficiary base. Currently, the Charity helps over 17,500 people every year through a comprehensive range of support and services.
The Fire Fighters Charity has three specialist UK centres, located in Cumbria, Devon and West Sussex, which provide therapy, rehabilitation and recuperation facilities. The Charity also offers a pioneering Beneficiary Support Services providing local and remote assistance to fire service personnel in need nationwide – providing solutions to real life problems.
It costs over £9 million each year to finance the vital range of services the charity provides, but with no government funding, it is reliant upon donations. The only way The Fire Fighters Charity can continue to provide vital support to the brave men and women of the UK fire service is through the generosity of individuals.
