Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
My name is Sue Gardner of Fit For Life (UK) Ltd. Some of you may know me from the fitness classes that I teach. For those of you who don't know me, Fit for Life (UK) is all about helping people to feel good about themselves through improved fitness and wellbeing.
I am organising individuals and teams to take part in this event because I want to help the hospice by raising funds through your sponsorship, and at the same time help people to improve their health so that, hopefully, they will never need the services of an organisation like St Michael's.
So please dig deep and sponsor me online.
We are all busy training at present you are all invited to come to the training sessions. Monday 9.30 am, and Thursday 6.00 pm. We will be going around Leominster for 30 minutes each session. Look out for the T-shirts!
The hardest part of having 25 runners is getting them together for a photo call so at present we have got one together with a fifth of the crew. We modelled them one hot, hot Saturday in April, and yes April and hot don’t normally come together.
I am delighted by the enthusiasm of my team, they are all training at least 3 times a week and many have not ever run for 3 – 4 miles in a race before.
What makes our teams unique is that I have been able to allow friends to run together. All the first runners are a group of girls who are friends and so on. They will be able to motivate each other in a encourage them to get to the next stage.
As each girl/man will be passing on the “baton” to someone they may not know, I have devised a cunning plan. Each team will be wearing a sweat wrist band of the colour of their team so there will be no mistakes.
But seriously the Hospice needs our money to continue helping those who need their care. I have never needed to go there or even had a relative who needed it. We all take insurance just in case something happens to us, but don’t forget our families. How far do you want to drive to see your terminally ill Father, mother, sister, daughter, brother, son?
