My story

- early opening of my fundraising page -

This fundraising page will be publicly linked on
www.london-marathon.info from end of July 2006 on. However, close friends are already invited to use it for their donations.

I dedicate my 8th London Marathon, taking place on April 22, 2007 to the children of AMANI.

In January 2005 I climbed Uhuru Peak on Kilimanjaro. It was my first visit to Tanzania and my first to Africa. All my thoughts were focused on the mountain which would be the highest I ever have climbed. What I met was not just the beautiful countryside but the country's people. Our Group of 9 tourists was supported by 28 porters who all were happy to carry our luggage for comparatively little wages. These porters were highly privileged men if you have in mind the countless children who live on the streets of Tanzania with little chances of a satisfying life. AMANI is a small but highly effective charity which cares for street children and aids orphans in Moshi at the foot of Kilimanjaro Mountain.

Whatever your reason is to visit this page - running London Marathon or climbing Kibo yourself, enjoying my website
www.london-marathon.info or the Kilimanjaro Report - please consider a donation in aid of AMANI Children's Home. You can be sure that every cent will be of great help.
Thank you.

Technically hint:
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: AMANI will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
