The Trussell Trust runs sustainable community projects in the UK and Bulgaria tackling poverty and exclusion. Through the UK Foodbank Network, Community Enterprises and Bulgaria projects, we work with marginalised people in real need, providing practical care and support. www.trusselltrust.org.
In every Borough of London there are many people who for a variety of reasons cannot afford to buy food to eat. They are poor, lonely and hungry. Across the UK churches have risen to the challenge of loving these people by creating local 'food banks'. Foodbanks are places where those who are truly in need can receive free food packages to help them survive.
The Foodbank Network was started and is managed by a Salisbury based charity, The Trussell Trust, and there are now nearly fifty foodbanks around the UK.
Premier Christian Radio, working in partnership with the Foodbank Network, wants to see Foodbanks started in every London Borough.
