I have been running during the last 2 years to raise money for and awareness of the good work that CBM does. In 2007 I ran 113 miles round Lough Neagh, in 2008 I walked 50 miles in 12 hours in the Isle of Man. At Easter 2009 I ran 20 laps round the walls of Derry in 2 ½ hours.
I chose to run on behalf of CBM because my father is registered blind and I know how hard it can be for people who are visually impaired to live their day to day lives. CBM works with over 37 million blind people in 113 countries in the world today and I would like as many as possible of them to be able to see again and have a second chance at life.
From August 5 - 8 I will be running 2 miles in laps round the outside of the pitches of the teams in the I.F.A Premiership
5 - Glentoran, Linfield, Cliftonville
6 - Ballymena, Coleraine, Institute
7 - Newry City, Portadown, Dungannon Swifts
8 - Glenavon, Lisburn Distillery, Crusaders
The last four days had been great visiting the different clubs in Northern Ireland getting good weather and the support of the IFA, Clubs, Management, Staff and Players.” With the success of the Footy Marathon Challenge, Christian Blind Mission will be able to help Blind and Disabled people in the world today.
