*****STOP PRESS STOP PRESS***** Just to let you know I completed the Robin Hood Half Marathon on Sunday. The old legs are still giving me grief :-)) Thank you so much for the donations recieived so far, Paul and Karen wish to add their thanks for your generous support. Although the target has been reached, the site will remain open for a few weeks and donations can still be made. Thanks once again. Gerry*****
*****STOP PRESS*** Since setting up this page, I have been both amazed and overwhelmed by your generosity. My warmest thanks to everyone who has pledged so far. My initial target of £800 was reached in a week, so I'm pushing it up to £2400 to try and get another 4 monitors. Thanks once again for your support -please pass the details on to anyone who may wish to help. Every penny counts to help other parents avoid the pain I've seen this year. Still considering Craig's offer of the green tights - does anyone have a pair? :-)) Best Wishes. Gerry*****
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. This charity is very close to my heart. As you may know, my 13 day old niece, Erin, tragically died from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (commonly known as cot death) in March this year.
Her parents, Paul and Karen, have decided to dedicate their efforts into raising funds to help the The Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths (FSID) buy monitors which will alert parents if their child has breathing difficulties whilst asleep. I (and others) have decided to help their efforts by running the Robin Hood Half Marathon in Nottingham (Erin's home town) on Sunday 11 September. The monitors cost £400 each (my target is to fund 2 of these). However, my employers, under their 'matched giving' scheme, will double whatever I raise (up to a maximum of £400) so I may be able to get 3! Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: FSID will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. Many thanks for your support. Much appreciated. Gerry.
