The Fosters return from Kilimanjaro

 

Hi there.

 

The Fosters have returned from a successful trip up Kilimanjaro.

 

John reached the summit of 5,895 metres (5 times Ben Nevis) at dawn on Sunday 30th August 2009.   Jo and Hermione had earlier reached the crater top, Stella Point (just 150 metres short of the top) but had to descend due to altitude sickness;  this had also affected James earlier on the final climb.  

 

The whole trip was extremely hard work but fascinating and camping for 7 nights in tents with the constand dust and dirt did not make life easy at all.

 

John, Jo, James and Hermione would like to thank everyone for their extrememly kind support over the last few weeks.  To date they have riased over £7,000 for Breast Cancer Haven in Leeds.
