We have completed: § A 5k swimathon on the 14 August– yes, that’s 200 lengths of a 25m pool! § A 100km gym ultra-marathon on the 1 October – over 8 1/2 hours on gym equipment! § Three Peaks Challenge in 24 hours on 27 August – 42km total horizontal distance, 3000 vertical metres, the 3 biggest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales on no sleep? § Great South Run on 30 October – 10 miles for girls who have only ever run to the bar! People keep telling us we are completely mad that only makes us more determined to complete them and enjoy the party afterward. The majority of the children they care for are unlikely to live beyond the age of 18. Complementing the work of the Julia's House Community Team, which consists of 80 Nurses and Carers who travel the county, the children's hospice provides life-changing support for families both in their own homes and in the hospice itself. Receiving only approximately three per cent of their funding from the Government, Julia's House relies on the Dorset community to help raise the remainder of their required income. In 2010, they estimate that it will cost nearly £2.6m to continue to provide their vital services. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
