Fraser is running the 2011 Baxter's Loch Ness Marathon for MacMillan Cancer Support
After running in 2009 for Headway Highland I knew that if I ever ran another marathon it would definitely not be Loch Ness and that I would not ask my friends for sponsorship again.
So here I am, two years on, preparing to run the 2011 Baxter's Loch Ness Marathon wearing the green shirt of MacMillan Cancer Support.
Once again I need your support and encouragement - and I also need a few shillings, pounds or dollars of your hard earned cash to go towards a very worthwhile cause and help me exceed the £400 MacMillan has set me as a fundraising target.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Why I am running for MacMillan Cancer Support:
Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer. MacMillan are a source of support, helping with all the things that people affected by cancer want and need. It's not only patients who live with cancer, so they also help carers and families, supporting them every step of the way. Macmillan fund nurses and build care centres. giving practical help at home as well as medical help.
One in three of us will get cancer. We are all affected by cancer. On 17th May this year my brother in law and great friend Koshal Pun lost his fight against cancer. Throughout his illness Koshi was given tremendous, respectful care by MacMillan who continue to support his wife Lorraine in her loss. My run is a tribute to Koshi and is dedicated to his memory - and I hope that the money raised will help enable MacMillan to support more people with cancer and their families.
