Some people think football is a matter of life or death... it can be.

We are hoping to be able to make a difference to children in the African country Lesotho, by using the power of football to help raise awareness of HIV and AIDS. We have the opportunity to go out to Lesotho in February 2009 to help educate these children about HIV and AIDS, encourage the children to get tested and to break down the stigma attached to having a positive status, make a significant contribution to building a football community centre and even play a number of football matches against some local teams.
But to participate on his exciting, challenging and rewarding tour, we must raise a minimum of £2200 each.
We have now completed several fundraising events, including the 22 mile walk last December between Fratton Park and St Mary's, a 5 a side football tournament, Andy completed a 10k race in London, which he will follow up with the Great South Run in October, a night at the Portsmouth Greyhound Stadium and several small competitions such as a Euro 2008 prediction game.
We still have some way to go until our target and have a few more ideas which we are currently working on, and we will keep everyone updated on here.
