Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page...
I guess you're wondering why I started this charity page. I'll share my story with you in few moments, but let's deal with the important fomalities first...
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Ok, now back to my story...
I'm a Web Designer and often meet business owners who cannot afford web design fees for a new website. I would normally charge anywhere from £397 and up - depending on what was required. This is pretty standard across the web design industry. Hold onto that thought for now, as we'll come back to this later...
One of the reasons for me starting my own business was so I could one day be in the position to reach out and help other people within my community. Now, of all the tragedies that can fall upon us as human beings, the loss of ones child is in my opinion, the worst thing that could ever happen someone.
Tears run down face...
Even though I have no children of my own, the very thought of losing a child leaves me filled with unexplainable emotions. Tears run down face every time I think of it.
That led me to thinking about parents experiencing such situations. It's just unimaginable what they must go through. I mean, the loss of their beautiful loved one, the feelings of emptiness, helplessness... OMG!
Anyway, that was the driving force behind my search for a charity that provides financial and emotional support for grieving parents.
My search led me to the story of Joseph Salmon...
My search led me to the story of little Joseph Salmon, a beautiful little boy who sadly died in his sleep on the 1st April 2005. His parents set up a charity in his name called, The Joseph Salmon Trust - Registered charity number 1123322.
When I read of their plight and discovered how they turned their situation into one which would help others, I had to get involved in helping out.
I knew who I wanted to help, the question was how?
Well, it took a while before I asked myself the right questions, but eventually I started looking at my own existing skills.
That's where you come in...
As I said before, I'm a Web Designer. I build profesional websites. I decided that instead of charging my usual £397 web design fee, I would give my services away in exchange for a donation (of any amount) to Joseph's charity.
That way, everybody wins.
How?
Well take a look at this...
1. You get a professional website valued at £397. You can see some examples here:
http://1.freewebdesignservices.com
http://2.freewebdesignservices.com
http://3.freewebdesignservices.com
2. You can showcase your business in your community, globally in fact!
3. You also get to raise your profile and be seen as a business owner who cares about what happens in your community.
I also benefit because I gain a long term client (YOU) for as long as you're happy with your website, and you will be. Yes, I lose out initially but with your help in spreading the word, I'll soon have enough clients to keep me happy.
How?
Well, it will cost you a measly £12 a month to host your website on my server - and that includes any updates you need doing. After making your donation, visit my website where you'll find out how to get your free website: http://www.freewebdesignservices.com
Now all of that sounds great...
Now all of that sounds great so far, but the most important and biggest benefactor is and will be of course - The Joseph Salmon Trust.
Your generous donation will help them to help grieving parents to pay for funeral costs, a headstone, or any other costs involved in giving their lost son/daughter a respectful burial.
Just imagine what your support would mean...
Just imagine what your support would mean to these devastated parents, especially at a time when going to work is the last thing on their minds. I could go on and on about the benefits of your support, but I'm sure you know by now how important this charity is.
I guess all that remains to say at this point is a huge thank you for reading my charity page. This will be an ongoing project. I've set £7000 as my first annual target...
With your help, I'm sure we can surpass that.
Thank you.
Warmest regards,
Stewart Alexander
P.s. All donations are welcomed, even if you do not require a website design :-)
