Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our Just Giving page.

Following the huge success of The Big Walk in 2016, through which we raised a fantastic £14,000, we wanted to challenge ourselves even further this year! So The Big Challenge was born. Working in partnership with the charity, Children Bringing Change, we have our international event taking place on Friday 13th October 2017.

Starting at 7:30pm, we plan to walk 5 miles from Bridgewater to Gateshead International Stadium, while carrying our overnight gear, before sleeping outside until 6am.

Our challenge intends to highlight the conditions experienced by children and families in Iraq, but also by some of the children and families within the communities in which we live and work.

Funds raised will be used to pay for:

  • Counselling for our most vulnerable children and their families.
  • Trips and activities to give these children the opportunity to experience places and activities they wouldn't otherwise experience. This in turn will broaden their horizons and raise their aspirations.
  • To provide food and meals for our most vulnerable children, ensuring they are well nourished and able to learn.

All money raised in Newcastle will remain to here to support our children and their families.

We were overwhelmed by the number of people who took part last year and by the amount of money we raised. We need even more people taking part this year and to raise even more money for the success of these vital and much needed projects.
