Friends First Journey Map

Why your donation matters

The Friends First Map visually demonstrates the possible 'destinations' of a persons journey with Friends First.

We here at Friends First believe that 'Self Awareness' is key, it is when people feel stuck, they can revert back to old habits or move forward positively. We hope to help them break free from old and unhelpful ways of being. Moving from left to right an individual may travel to some or most of the destinations on the map, journeying over a short span or several years.

Your involvement with Friends First (weather through donation or spreading the word) helps to extend the paths on the map.

The map shows what a person might experience during their connection to a Friends First project. It was designed with prior permission from the London Transport Authority.

John’s Reflection on life at Friends First so far……..

‘Being at Friends First has changed my life around. I’m more things in the community like cooking for myself and often for others. I also do shopping for the house. I do gardening now and volunteer at the allotment group on Fridays.

My health is better since I’ve been here and I eat more regularly and healthier. This has been especially good as I am HIV positive and my medication is regular and I feel healthier. I may be able to live on my own with some help in the future.’
