The Sierra Madre Forest Initiative program from BirdLife International and Haribon (BirdLife’s Partner in the Philippines) has been selected by The Walt Disney Company as a recipient of funding through Disney’s Friends for Change: Project Green.
The Sierra Madre is the largest block of ancient forest left in the Philippines. It’s a magical landscape of forests, rivers, waterfalls and caves, and is home to some globally important animals and plants.
Sierra Madre is precious. In fact, nearly half of all the species that live there are not found anywhere else on the planet. If we loose Sierra Madre, we loose wildlife which cannot be replaced. Ever.
Unfortunately, the forest is being damaged by logging and mining, and the animals are being hunted.
However, we know that the forests are worth more standing than cut down. We also know that they can still be saved.
Our project is working out a method of conserving the Sierra Madre forest forever. We will help to save the trees, plants and animals, and will work with local to make sure they can benefit from living near the forest without cutting it down or killing the animals.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: BirdLife International gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please donate to help save the Sierra Madre Forest today. Also, please go to www.Disney.com/friendsforchange and vote for BirdLife.
Thank you so much...
