My story

To track Mike and Tim on their journey please log onto www.fujimckeegan.blogspot.com

Mike and Tim McKeegan will be climbing Mount Fuji in Japan, aiming to reach the summit at Sunrise on 1st July 2011. This  would have been Jamie's 22nd Birthday. Jamie's nickname was Fuji, and we thought it would not only be challenging, but  very appropriate to climb a mountain with this name.                                                  Sadly Jamie was killed in a road traffic incident on September 1st 2006. He was just seventeen years old.

We hope  to raise lots of money for the Road Victims Trust who provide support to families like us who have lost a loved one in a fatal road traffic incident. This charity supported our family through the shock, loss and grief as well as the complex legal processes that follow these tragic accidents. We want to continue to support this wonderful charity to ensure this service is available for families who will need them in the future.

Please note 100% of your donations will go directly to Road VictimsTrust.

Mount Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan at 3,776.24 m (12,389ft).An active stratovolcano that last erupted in 1707–08, Mount Fuji lies about 60 miles south-west of Tokyo, and can be seen from there on a clear day. Mount Fuji's exceptionally symmetrical cone is a well-known symbol of Japan and it is frequently depicted in art and photographs.
