Cancer is a horrible, destructive illness that effects us all at some point in our life. We have all loved, lost, cared for and know people who have been effected by cancer. Cancer does not discriminate, it doesn't consider gender, wealth, race or age.

I am a proud father of two young girls and I teach children & young adults aged between 16-19; I see the potential these young people have and the potential & possibilities that could lay before them. Unfortunately cancer doesn't care!

These are just some of the facts:

Every day, 43 children are diagnosed with cancer

Around 250 children, aged 0 to 14 years, lose their lives to cancer every
year in the UK.

In the UK, cancer is the most common cause of death in children aged 1 to 14 years, accounting for around one fifth of deaths in this age group.

These children will not experience many of the the things we take for granted; some won't have their first kiss, they won't graduate from school, have a job, drive a car, own a house or have children of their own.

In order to raise awareness and money for this worthy cause I am going to push my self to physical extremes. This includes competing in various extreme and ultra events such as:

The L2M Ultramarathon (50 mile run) 15 April 2017

A Gym Ironman  (2.4 mile swim/112 bike/26.2 treadmill run) @ total Fitness Aintree 29th April 2017

The L2M Double Ultramarathon (100 mile run) 27th May 2017

Dragon Ride L’Etape (302 km bike) 11th June 2017

The City to Summit endurance challenge (13.1 mile run/112 bike/26.2 mile run over Ben Nevis) 2nd July 2017

The Brutal Double Iron Distance Triathlon  (4.8 mile swim/230 mile bike/52 mile run over Snowdon) 16th September 2017

I would really appreciate your help in raising as much awareness and money as possible for the charity. Any help no matter how big or small will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Alan
