Story
Later this year I will be taking on the challenge of the Loch Ness Marathon, my first ever attempt at running 26.2 miles 🏃♀️ And to mark the occasion I’m hoping to raise money for the Dementia UK charity joining #TeamDementiaUK
I’ve chosen this charity due to a very close family member being diagnosed with mixed dementia, and the devastating effects and challenges it brings everyday to our family and to so many other families across the UK 🥲
A huge amount of people with dementia are cared for by family and friends. The extra stresses attached to caring for someone with dementia shows there is a huge need for the help this charity provides. Dementia UK provides funding for Admiral Nurses who are specialists employed to support families and carers who have loved ones suffering from the disease. Unfortunately not everyone is lucky enough to have an Admiral Nurse working in their area but the charity also funds a national helpline. Your kind donations will help fund more nurses and keep the helpline running to support many more families both now and in the future 💗
Please support my marathon training and help me raise funds for #TeamDementiaUK leading up to marathon day - which takes place on Sunday 3rd October 2021 😊
