Story
Back pounding the pavements again... On 23rd April I will be running 26.2 miles around the mean streets of Old London Town.
In 2014 I made a number of changes to my lifestyle that saw me shift three stone and eventually fell fit enough to take on what I considered to be my ultimate manageable challenge - the Reading Half Marathon.
Despite promising "never again" I decided to enter the public ballot for 2017's London Marathon, feeling that with six month's training and a sensible festive season it was possible. Unfortunately I was unsuccessful in the ballot.
I then entered my company's ballot for a small number of places, assuming once again that the odds were against me getting a spot. After a rather too festive December I am now looking at an accelerated 16 week programme to get myself ready while shifting enough timber to ensure I am not dragging too much surplus baggage around.
I am aiming to raise funds for Barnardo's. To discover more about the fantastic work they do go to https://www.barnardos.org.uk/what_we_do.htm
