2016.....New Year....New Challenge
In 2016 I have the chance to swim the length of Lake Windermere, the largest lake in England, and do it for FRANK Water.
So, is it just one swim in a big lake? Well, yes and no, I volunteered to raise money doing the Windermere swim for FRANK, however in addition I am doing another weekend of swimming before it, so it is really three challenges.
On the 6th Aug I will be swimming the 2.7km Inn to Inn Swim in Cornwall, the following day I will be swimming the 14km Bridge to Bridge Swim from Henley to Marlow down the Thames, and then the following month I will be swimming 16km from one end of Windermere to the other...a real long distance swimming challenge.
I have done IRONMAN Switzerland, I have swum the Bridge to Bridge before, and done the Dart 10k but this is my biggest year of swimming, please give me some support for those dark moments when I want to give up!!
FRANK Water Projects (www.frankwater.com) is a small charity (Registered charity no. 1121273) that funds sustainable clean water projects in developing countries across the world. Since it started in 2005 it has funded 116 village projects. In a world where more than 4,000 children die EVERY DAY from a lack of clean drinking water, it’s clear that help is needed – please help me support this worthwhile small charity.
