Story

I am running the London Marathon in April 2017 to raise money for the Air Ambulance.

In March 1999 I was in a mini bus accident returning from a school trip which nearly ended my life. By the time the Air Ambulance arrived at the scene of the accident I had lost 6 pints of blood and suffered a good selection of broken bones (including my skull, shoulder blade and elbow) and lost more skin than a proverbial cat (see above).

Within 60 minutes of the accident I had arrived at hospital and was on my way to surgery to patch me back up with various bits of metal, muscle transplants, skin grafts and tissue expanders that still hold me together today.

Each Air Ambulance trip costs on average £2,500. It seems like a small gesture but I'd like to raise enough money by running the London Marathon to ensure at least one other person's life can be saved by this great charity.

Thank you for any donations, large or small. x
