Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Our special little boy, Adam, was born with a congenital heart defect. At just three days old we were transferred to Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital so that he could receive the specialist care he needed. At four days old Adam had his first surgery, meaning that he could live and begin growing and getting strong.
Adam was a beautiful, happy baby whose cheerfulness bellied how serious his condition was. He grew bigger and stronger, developing just like all little boys and we had almost eight precious months with our special little boy.
The time came just before Adam was eight months old that he had to have the huge heart surgery that would give him the chance of life in the long term. Sadly the operation proved to be too much for his little body to take and he never woke up after his surgery.
Without the wonderful care and expertise of the team at GOSH we would not have had those precious eight months with Adam, and he would not have had the chance of life.
17th November 2018 marked 30 years since Adam passed away and that was why I chose that date to launch my fundraising page.
GOSH gives hope to many sick children, in some cases their only hope of life and in others giving them the best quality of life possible.
I am riding the Prudential London 100 as part of the GOSH team and would very much appreciate support in my fundraising challenge. If you would like to support the work of GOSH please make a donation. Thank you X
