On 28th May 2020 the Captains of Knebworth Golf Club, Peter Simmons and Brenda Smith are taking on the Letchworth Greenway, riding trikes to raise money for the Herts Disability Sports Foundation (HDSF), the 2020 Captains Charity.

All money raised by Peter and Brenda will go to the HDSF 'Everyone Can Cycle" project which aims to buy a very special Berkel Bike (a combination of hand bike and recumbent bike) and expand the 'Trike Library' of adapted trikes that are loaned to families.

Herts Disability Sports Foundation is currently doing all of its sessions online, with small groups of people who need a little bit extra support to access physical activities. All sessions are adapted to meet the needs of the individual, whether that be sitting or standing, or just some extra encouragement to keep engaged.

The technology gap has proved a challenge over the past 8 weeks, and we have been delighted to be able to purchase and deliver 19 iPads, out to people who have no access to the technology needed to see their friends and family.

We are also looking at getting back outside this summer, specifically with our 1-1 adapted cycling offer and trike library. We currently have 8 trikes out with our HDSF friends, who borrowed them for the lockdown, to make getting out and active more fun for the whole family.
