Story
In September 2015 I was diagnosed with cancer, specifically, lymphoma. I was 17 years old and had no idea what was going to happen to me. Through the whole ordeal there wasn't a second that passed that I wasn't absolutely petrified. I don't want cancer to have so much power over anyone anymore.
I will be 19 in March and have been in remission since May 2016 which is absolutely incredible! I've had the chance to go to university. I've started rebuilding my body and fitness. I'm on my way back to how I was before.
But I wouldn't be able to say this if it wasn't for the treatment I received.
I had radiotherapy in Velindre and the nurses and doctors were amazing. They were always compassionate and had time to calm me down.
It's a really amazing place. You think centres like that would be sad and gloomy but the staff made all the difference. Even though I was basically an adult I'd get a chocolate after every session and they played my favourite music whilst I was receiving my treatment. They made the hardest thing that had ever happened to me so much easier and for that I'll always be grateful.
I received amazing care at Velindre but they need the funds to be able to be as amazing as they are!
I'll be cycling 62 miles around aberglovey on the 16th of September in the hope to raise as much as I can for them.
Any donations at all would be amazing!! Literally anything at all is greatly appreciated.
Eventually, I hope to raise money for every organisation who helped me so they can all carry on helping others.
Thank you for reading this!! And thank you for any donations.
