We fund life saving medical research to beat the world's biggest killers.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  My late father died before he had a chance to see all of his children married or any of his grandchildren.

To help support the BHF I am undertaking a solo crossing of the English Channel in July 2017.  So far over 2 million people have run a marathon, 700,000 an Ironman Triathlon and over 4,000 have climbed Everest.  However only 1600 have swum the English Channel!

The English Channel is the 21 mile stretch of water that separates England and France and is one of the worlds most dangerous swims as it is the worlds busiest shipping lane with strong tidal flow.  Linked to this you are only allowed to wear a standard pair of swiming trunks, a pair of goggles and a swim cap whilst swimming in water that can be between 12 and 18 degrees C.

Heart and circulatory diseases are the world’s biggest killers. That’s why the British Heart Foundation exists. By funding research, we can help find treatments and cures that could save lives. With your donations and the awe-inspiring science we fund, we make science fiction a reality, together.
