Story
LONDON to BIRMINGHAM – October 2017
For the second year, New London Architecture Chairman, Peter Murray, and Wates Director, Andy Wates, are cycling 125.7 miles from London to Birmingham to raise money for Construction Youth Trust.
Construction Youth Trust works with young people across England and Wales to help them overcome barriers and find work or training in the construction industry – providing CV and employability training to ex-offenders, students and people not in employment training or education.
Peter is calling for construction professionals to join him again and arrive by bike at the opening of UK Construction Week on the morning of Tuesday 10th October. Last year Peter and his construction peloton raised nearly £10,000 for CYT, and they are aiming to at least double that in 2017.
“We’ll do the ride at a steady pace riding 90 miles on Monday October 9 and the rest on Tuesday morning, following an early start so that we are at Birmingham’s NEC in time for the opening ceremony of UK Construction Week. We will also be promoting the work of the Construction Industry Cycling Commission and the work it is doing to ensure a road safety culture is embedded across the industry.”
Please donate generously to help the Trust in their work helping young people gain access to an inspiring and engaging industry.
