Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In 2010, I set out on a walk from Arles in France. This was the start of an old pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela in Northern Spain, a distance of over 1500kms. Over the last 7 years, I have covered 1200kms in stages and have reached the city of Leon in Spain. On 10th May, I shall embark on the final 300kms. I am fortunate enough to have a group of good friends who have accompanied me on the route and a number of them will be joining me on this final stage.
It has been an incredible challenge and one which has brought with it great satisfaction and some wonderful moments to look back on. It has also been very rewarding as, thanks to great generosity, I have managed to raise money for a number of charities, namely Racing Welfare, MacMillan Cancer Support, ABF Soldier's Charity and The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards Caring for Courage Fund.
Family, friends, colleagues and associates have been wonderfully generous throughout this journey, but I would like to make one final collection for three very worthwhile causes. This JustGiving page is for my Racing Welfare collection; this charity is there to give guidance and practical help to stud, stable and support staff who are the essential components of the racing industry.
I would like to stress that every penny raised goes to the charities. Your support is invaluable to these great charities, and also to me personally, to help spur me on through these final kilometres.
I thank you most sincerely for your contribution.
