Story
We (Carina, Mark, Sue, Mark J, Ollie and Finlay) will be embarking on an epic bike ride from Lands End to John O'Groats to raise money for pancreatic cancer UK. That's roughly 1000 miles in 12 days!! An average of 85 miles a day.
Mark and Sue are also doing the Great Newham London Swim. They will swim a mile open water in the O2 Arena Canary Wharf on Saturday 16th July.
Carina and Mark's mum (Gerry) was diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer last year, it's known as a silent cancer as symptoms often do not present until it's too late. I cannot explain how important research/trials and therefore funding is; statistics for pancreatic cancer are horrifying only a 1% survival rate, a statistic that hasn't changed since the 70's. Mum got onto a trial which seems to have had some effect and along with her fighting spirit and positivity means mum has joined the small 21% of people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer that survive a year.
Join us in the fight - striving for survival.
