My Aunt was the bubbliest and funniest person you would have met. Everyone's favourite Aunty! My beloved Aunt (Pua ji) passed away 8 weeks ago, having lived with Advanced (vascular) Dementia for the last 4 years. My cousin Suzi ~ who I am doing the marathon with was her primary carer, I saw exactly how heartbreaking this condition is. Seeing this little gem of a lady go from greeting others with a smile, to then struggle to recognise her own family was hard, for her and for us. Ten/twelve years ago, I hadn't heard of anyone with Dementia, now this condition is something that, sadly most of us are familiar with. I'd like to raise some money for this charity as I believe their research is vital for future generations.Alzheimer’s Society are working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. They do this by giving help to those living with dementia today and by providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding ground-breaking research.
Thank you for choosing to trek for Alzheimer's Society, together we can be help and hope to everyone affected by dementia.
