Before November 2017 the medical condition ‘Stroke’ was just another word to me, I didn’t even consider that I would be seeing a family member fall ill to a stroke and the effects it can have. 

My Grandma spent two and a half months in hospital after suffering an acute stroke that has left her completely paralysed on her right side, and affected her speech, she now lives at home with 24 hour care.

I'm running the half marathon for the Stroke Association and for my Grandma, she is the most amazing person and knowing how proud she will be when I tell her I've completed my first half marathon is the best motivation ever. 

The Stroke Association rely on support from the public to change the lives of people affected by stroke and reduce the number of people who are struck by this devastating condition. Please help them to make a difference today, and to support me through my training and race!
