Story
Sadly we had to end this year long challenge earlier than expected, as it lost interest and this challenge needs interaction from others to make it work. It was a hard decision to make but the right one given the circumstances and donations had been dropping for a while. We'd just like to say a BIG THANK YOU for helping us raise a total of £440.70 as part of #amigurumicharityrun and £251.74 of that was raised for Support Dogs. This won't be the end of us and our fundraising, it's just the end of this challenge. Keep an eye on our blogs and social media for new fundraising events.
Husband and Wife Collaboration - I (husband) will be running every day of the year with an Amigurumi character made by my wife Rosie / @bedcrafter.
I will be running a minimum of 5K everyday of the year,
starting on the 1st of January and ending on the 31st of December 2017. On every run I will be accompanied by an Amigurumi character, this will either be Star Wars or Marvel related. These are made by my wife Rosie / @bedcrafter and
I will be sharing photos daily of their adventures with me over on my Instagram (also goes to my Facebook page).
Each month we will be fundraising for one of the charities, as we have chosen two charities we will be alternating between them each month. We ask that each month you use the appropriate fundraising page to donate to the charity we are focusing on that month, thank you. Each charity will have a total of 6 months and we hope in this time we can raise some funds for them both. The month's we will be raising for Support Dogs are; February, April, June, August, October and December.
On the last week of the month we will hold a raffle, for your chance to win the Amigurumi character that has accompanied me on that month's run. We thought this would be an extra way to raise money for the charities and something you might like. Of course due to the nature of this challenge there might be times when the Amigurumi character doesn't fair too well during their adventures, if we feel that it's not in a suitable condition when we hold the raffle we will still offer the original character that has
been on the adventures you see but we will also include another one that has been made especially for you (same character). There will be separate fundraising page for these monthly raffles, the charity will be chosen based on the one that we have been raising for that month. The details with a link to the raffle will be announced at the beginning of the last week of the month, and will run for the last week of that
month.
My wife Rosie is making these Amigurumi Characters especially for this challenge, they will be made mostly from Three Bears Yarn 100% cotton although occasionally this might change if other yarns are needed to create the
character. They are not suitable as toys and we advise keeping away from children, these are for display purposes only. The patterns are from two crochet kits my wife has, Star Wars Crochet kit by Lucy Collin and Marvel Crochet Kit by Kati Galusz. The characters will vary in size but will be around 5 inches. For more details on these monthly creations please check out my wife's instagram and blog where she will share more details, and happily answer any questions you might have.
