Story

Hi everyone,

Thanks for stopping by to read my page and hopefully supporting this fundraising effort.  Here's a little about me and why I am undertaking the 10k "Courage" Royal Marine Commando Challenge ....

My name is Amy and I am a full time PA and part time photographer.  I lead quite a hectic lifestyle in terms of the things that I am involved in, and don't have much time to look after me!  In June I will turn 40 ... a milestone I am a little afraid of reaching, if I am honest.  I have never been one for keeping fit or maintaining any constant level of fitness or exercise routine - I love my chocolate, pizza, lasgane, biscuits, cake and wine ... but after friends of mine planted the seed about this challenge (after a few glasses of wine, I may add) I thought "why not" and here I am.

For me, this is probably going to be the biggest challenge I have ever faced; it's more than just the physical challenge, this is going to test me on every level; my motivation, commitment, staying the course ... I know that when it starts to hurt (and it will) I am going to have to dig deep and just plow through it.  I know that to stand any chance of doing this event, and to complete it in a respectable time, I am going to need to "beast myself" - get a grip of all my bad eating habits, make my pizza and wine nights in front of the TV a treat rather than the norm and make the commitment to hit the gym.  I need to start from scratch - lose weight (a lot of it) and get fit - and I have 10months in which to do it.

This is a great event which supports two amazing charities; the Devon Air Ambulance Trust and the Royal Marines Charity, and I am really proud to be fundraising for them.

I have been warmly welcomed into the "RMCC 2018 event" family by Sarah and the Marketing Team at DAAT and will be making regular blogs on the RMCC website (www.commandochallenge.co.uk) as well as here to record my progress and to let you all know how the weight loss campaign and training is going.  So, if you think I am totally crazy (and you wont be alone in that) and for no other reason than this, would like to sponsor me, I would be so grateful.

To see what I have signed up for please take a look at the course on the RMCC website - www.commandochallenge.co.uk/obstacles

And to find out more about the charities that will benefit from your sponsorship, please take a look here -

Thanks in advance for your support and sponsorship!
