Story
Tom is such a loving gentle giant. He was found locally trying to walk with an injured front leg and damaged paw.
He was taken to the local vets. They contacted our Homing Officer who stepped in to take Tommy in to our care to help with his treatment and recovery. We were told that without being aware of how the injury happened the extent of the damage was difficult to know. It seems like he's been in this poor state for a while. How long he'd been in pain from this we just don't know.
Tommy had adapted to walking on the joint of his front leg instead of his damaged paw and claws. After antibiotics his paw and part of his leg had healed although his paw was still distorted.
Sadly after two weeks, there had been no improvement and our vet made the difficult decision that it would be best for Tom for the leg to be removed.
We know that Tom can adapt to walking with 3 legs instead of 4 and
will go on to have a great life.
Tom's vet bill is rising and his surgery alone will cost £500 so any support you can give us so we can help him is greatly appreciated.
If you cannot help on this occasion please share this page with all your family and friends.
Thank you so much for your support.
