Beech Hill Sponsored Hill Walk (Across the Southdowns Way)
The service users who live on the Sussex Community House “Beech Hill”, which is part of the wider Disabilities Trust Group, are looking for new ways to raise money for them to able go out and do more activities and have
more experience’s with their friends.
They would like to do trips together as this gives them more
confidence to try new things or to go further or stay longer. It gives them joint memories and experiences that they can enjoy chatting about to each other and their friends and family.
One thing that the service users have said in their Hot chocolate discussion group is that they would all like to go camping together as a house holiday. They would like to try and raise some funds
to help with this goal.
Their chosen way to try and raise this is a sponsored walk
as it is an activity they can all do and enjoy. As it is a sponsored walk they have all agreed that it needs to be a bit longer than the usual Sussex walks that they enjoy so have with the help of Beech Hill staff come up with a 17km stretch of the Southdowns Way to walk which will take them from Lewes to the Devils Dyke.
As this sponsored event will be out in the elements two
dates have been selected encase of bad weather. They are Wednesday 22 March and
Wednesday 02 April 2017.
The service users are all looking forward to this event and
the possibilities the sponsorship may bring.
