It is with great sadness that DJ Assembly has to announce that our much-loved friend and colleague Billy Skelton passed away suddenly on the 29th of January 2018.

A long-standing figure in the electronics industry, Billy amassed a wealth of experience before joining DJ Assembly four years ago. He quickly became an integral part of our team and part of all of our extended families.

As all who met him will attest, Billy’s warmth and generosity knew no bounds. Barely a day would pass without him providing his friends and colleagues with a gift of some sort, a humorous quip, a shoulder to lean on or the time to sit down together and put the world to rights.

Irreverent, un-PC, a practical joker and a friend to all, Billy’s humour gave him the ability to make anyone laugh. And laugh we all did. Whether at one of his outrageous stories, at a quick-witted and wicked one-liner, or simply at his joy and passion for life, Billy made us all happier by his presence and his passing makes us all that much poorer. He really was a true gentleman who was loved by all.

Billy had been ill for some time but throughout it all, he never allowed it to keep him from the job in hand. Simply put, he was an inspiration, a motivation for us all, and a glowing example to everyone he came into contact with.

Billy is survived by his wife, Judith, his three children and beautiful granddaughter Gracie. Whilst we mourn Billy, we know that their loss is so much more than ours: Our thoughts are with the entire family at this sad time.

We will all miss Billy. The world won’t be the same without him. He has left a huge hole in our lives both personally and professionally; a loss that everyone who knew him will keenly feel.
