Fundraising for Breast Cancer Care
Story

So here goes my story and why I would like to give something back to this amazing cause.
Those that know me shall know I’m not very good at making things public as I don’t like fuss or people to feel sorry for me hence why has taken me until now.
About 4 years ago I felt the dreaded lump it took me nearly a year to actually do anything about it as thought it was probably nothing. I braved the doctors and got referred to be checked. I was told by one lady I didn’t know my Breasts and it would not be Cancer because of where it was and the lady did not even scan the lump properly. So I left feeling a little stupid, humiliated and that I was making a fuss about nothing.
2 years on I had another symptom so go to the doctors again though again wondering if I’m being silly and feeling anxious about visiting the hospital again after the last experience. However this time I can’t fault them one bit they were actually concerned and did thourogh checks and even did Biopsies straight away. The care they gave me that day was truly amazing.
So to cut a very long story short after weeks of being in and out of hospitals having checks, biospsies, Mri’s , Scans and Mammograms I hear those dreaded words Cancer . I was told it was pre Cancer so was lucky as I had caught it early. However the tumour from the small lump I had felt those 4 years before was now to big for a lumpectomy, so more dreaded words the best thing for me will be a Mastectomy.
Last Summer I had the Operation and thanks to my amazing family and friends I got through this. More tests after the surgery revealed there was actually stage 1 Cancer in there.
So the main reason I’m sharing this is because I want to make people aware that even if a professional tells you nothing is wrong, they can make mistakes. If you think for one minute something isn’t right please listen to your instincts and get 2nd opinions or question them. I am one of the lucky ones, had it not of been for my other symptom I probably would of never gone back because of what that lady said to me and how she made me feel and this now could of been a very different story. .
So I am fundraising for this wonderful cause as they really have been amazing through my whole experience and all my surgeries and would love to give a little back.
My friends and I shall be holding a Pink Party to raise funds but if you can’t make it and would like to contribute please do so on my page.
