My name is Hayden, I'm 13 and I go to York High School.

I have a condition called Duchene Muscular Dystrophy, which results in muscular degeneration. I live an active life though, and one of my main passions is Wheelchair Football. I am not new to the sport, in fact I have been playing since 2013 and I currently turn out for Jorvik Warriors Powerchair Football Club.

The Club Secretary, Lyn Clarke, reckons I am one of the best players in the squad ''Hayden is one of the stars of the team and an inspiration to others. Many in the sport agree that he needs his own chair in order to realise the talent he has''

At the moment I have to borrow the chair. This is fine, except that the chair doesn't really fit properly and can often be uncomfortable and painful. I used to overlook this as my desire to play is greater, however it has come to the point where I would benefit from owning my own chair.

My Mum, Sarah, knows that I get so much from competing and I am desperate to keep on playing ''Hayden want to play at a higher level. However, to step up to regional and national level, which he is capable of, he needs a specialist chair to give him greater movement and speed on court''

The chair I have been recommended is the Invacare Special Powerchair, but they don't come cheap! Fortunately, Caudwell Children are supporting my fund raising and are busy contacting grant giving bodies and organisations on my behalf. I also want to appeal to the public and business community across York to give a helping hand.

My Mum, Dad, Brother Nathan and Sister Erin are all backing my campaign and hopefully I will be able to raise enough money to afford my own chair and keep playing the sport I love.
