Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Given that my body generally suffers when exposed to a temperature lower than 10 degrees, this challenge can be considered well out of my comfort zone! I have decided to take part because I always like to push myself over my limits and when I heard that a close friend of mine wanted to take part as well, I felt even more encouraged to sign up too. However, the main reason why I want to join this challenge is because I truly believe in what we do at the Hospice, and as a member of the Fundraising Team I feel that I want to give my personal contribution to support my outstanding workplace. I can't think of anything more rewarding than coming back from this journey knowing that I have raised vital funds to be used for our patients and their families... If I survive the freezing cold, of course!

Here's a summary of what the challenge is going to be like:

Lapland Husky Trail

Our bespoke Highland Hospice charity challenge is to sled 270km from Norway, into Sweden through untouched nature, in order to finish at the world famous Ice Hotel (the original!) in Jukkasjarvi! Our challenge begins in the Arctic city of Tromso, where we make our way to the Dog Sled Centre in order to meet our husky companions. After meeting and greeting our furry friends, we then dive straight into the spirit of adventure and spend our first night in a traditional Lavvo, surrounding the roaring fire.

Please, donate if you can; I would hugely appreciate it.

Grazie :)
